Sean Purce

Sean Purce is Senior Specialist, Fine Wines and Rare Spirits for Bonhams, based in New York. He has been a distinguished participant in the wine industry for over a decade, starting his career with Zachy's Wine Auctions, where he acted as a wine specialist, managed the online auction platform, and eventually went on to oversee appraisals and cataloguing for all sales.

After leaving Zachy's, Sean went into private client services, managing the sales & acquisitions for major national retailers such as Wine.com. His subsequent roles have included working as a sommelier for both the Zuma and Jean-Georges Restaurant Groups in New York City.

Like many of the very best wine specialists and sommeliers Sean has a B.A. in History (St. John's University) where he discovered many things including the virtues of fine wine, eventually leading him to attain the Advanced Certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.
