Sabine Cornette de Saint Cyr

Sabine Cornette de Saint Cyr is Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris.

After studying Literature & Civilisation in Lyon and then Modern Literature at the Sorbonne, Sabine turned to a school of cultural and art market management. After discovering various departments within different auction houses (including Antique Paintings at Sotheby's Paris and Design & Art Deco at Camard), it was Post-War & Contemporary Art that definitively seduced Sabine. Emboldened by this revelation, quite far from her family culture (rather 18th century!), she pushed open the door of the Cornette de Saint Cyr house 18 years ago.

Sabine first worked in the Modern Art department, where she orchestrated the well-known Foujita estate, 12 sales totalling nearly €20 million; the Prints department, which she created with Dorothée Cornette de Saint Cyr in 2010; and the Post-War & Contemporary Art department, to which her heart has been drawn. Sabine has been heading the Post-War & Contemporary Art department alongside Arnaud Cornette de Saint Cyr for many years, which has seen some very prestigious sales and collections, such as Alain Delon's 1950s collection (40 works: white glove sale, €8 million and 16 world records).

Passionate about Literature and Philosophy, Sabine also has an immoderate love for the wine of Burgundy, her birthplace.
