Kaitlin Shinnick

Kaitlin Shinnick is Director of Jewellery at Bonhams Skinner in Boston. Her areas of expertise are in 19th and 20th century jewellery, coloured gemstones and American jewelry.

Since joining Bonhams Skinner in 2015, Kaitlin has overseen the sales of some exceptional jewels including a 31.25 Type IIA diamond, which sold for $3,947,00; a Cartier Kashmir sapphire ring, which sold for $873,000; and a fine carved emerald from the estate of Emily Crane Chadbourne, which sold for $243,000.

Prior to her time at Bonhams Skinner, Kaitlin was the Windgate Fellow at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she worked with the Daphne Farago jewellery collection and researched artists and pieces for the American Art department. She has a Master's degree in Decorative Arts from the Bard Graduate Centre and a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Smith College. Kaitlin also studied at the Gemological Institute of America, where she received a Graduate Gemologist diploma.

Kaitlin is a jewellery appraiser on the PBS programme Antiques Roadshow and is frequent lecturer on antique and period jewellery.
