Carly Babione
Carly Babione is Business Manager and Cataloguer for the Discovery department at Bonhams Skinner. She joined the company as an Auction Assistant in 2013 after graduating from Clark University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a minor in History. She received her Certificate in Appraisal Studies in Art and Antiques from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014, and shortly after was elevated to Business Administrator/Cataloger of the Discovery Department. Prior to working at Bonhams Skinner, Carly held positions at the Worcester Art Museum in the education department as well as a contemporary art gallery, Go Figurative, in London.
An appreciation for the aesthetic and historical value of objects has been a moving force throughout Carly's career. This passion, and an eagerness to learn at every opportunity, suits the ever-changing world of antiques. Putting together monthly Discovery auctions, and specializing in Fine Jewelry and Silver, has taught Carly the drastic ebbs and flows of the auction market.
Carly's ultimate interests lie in late 19th and early 20th century sculpture, painting, jewelry, and history. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, reading, music, and crocheting. She comes from a large family in Pennsylvania, and is currently enjoying the temperamental New England weather.
