Ben Walker

Ben Walker was appointed International Department Director for Collectors' Motorcycles in 2015.

His responsibilities encompass all aspects of the motorcycle business in the UK and overseas, including business development, co-ordinating and organizing auctions, and managing client relationships. He has a keen sense of commercial value and sale strategy, and applies his historic and technical knowledge to individual vehicles to ensure excellent sale results for both buyer and seller.

Ben has overseen the sale of many fine collections, including The Geeson Brothers Motorcycle Museum (100% of lots sold, first ever 'white glove' sale for Bonhams' Motoring Division, £720,000); The Brian Verrall Collection (100% of lots sold, £1,236,400); The Willy Neutkens Collection of Important BMW Motorcycles (100% of lots sold, €1,038,380); The Robert White Collection (seeing just shy of 100% sold and £3 million achieved, with all proceeds to benefit new cancer treatment facilities at Poole and Dorset County hospitals). 2016 in particular was a remarkable year for the Bonhams International Motorcycle Department, setting numerous world records with at least an 85% sell through rate and a total £8.8 million raised.

Ben offers expert knowledge and experience of all aspects of the Collectors' market for veteran/pioneer, vintage, classic and post-classic motorcycles and related Automobilia, memorabilia, spares and accessories. He is a well-known and established personality within the many diverse areas of collectors' motorcycles.

Ben graduated from Southampton Institute in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Valuation. A full-time administrator in the Automobilia Department at Brooks, when the company was merged with Bonhams in 2000 he progressed rapidly from junior cataloguer to Head of Motorcycles in 2002. In 2010 he was appointed Department Director.
