
Joanna van der Lande
Joanna van der Lande is Senior Consultant for Antiquities in London. She founded the department in 1990 and was Head of Department until 2006.
Beyond Bonhams, Joanna advises businesses and institutions, providing valuations and advice on authenticity, provenance and political issues affecting the antiquities market. She chairs the Antiquities Dealers' Association (ADA) and vetting committees at London-based art fairs. She is an official valuer for the Treasure Valuation Committee, a member of the European Commission Expert sub-group on Dialog with the Art Market, a part of a working group with UNIDROIT concerning private art collections and 'orphan' objects and was a member of The Illicit Trade Advisory Panel (ITAP) until it disbanded in 2006.
