James Knight

James Knight is a Consultant for Bonhams Classic Cars department.

Formerly Bonhams' Executive Director and Group Motoring Chairman, as well as one of the longest serving specialists in the industry, James has handled record-breaking auctions of both collections and individual motor cars. Some of the major collections he has offered include Rosso Bianco; Maranello Rosso; The Autocar Archives on behalf of Haymarket Publishing Group; and British Motor Industry Heritage Trust dispersal sale. Among the exceptional motor cars he has brought to auction, there is the world's oldest Rolls-Royce; the ex-works 1953-55 Austin-Healey Special Test Car/100S; and Jaguar C- and D-Types, and the unique Jaguar prototype E2A. Each of these motor cars achieved world auction record prices.

James also acts as an adviser to a number of institutions, which include manufacturers, trusts and museums. He is also an accomplished auctioneer and nominated 'Auctioneer of the Year' for the British Antiques and Collectors Association. He owns a 1954 Austin-Healey 100.
