An Abundance of Colored Signed Jewels Headline at Bonhams New York Auction

New York – Bonhams presents the anticipated New York Jewels sale on December 9. The 195-lot collection of jewelry features an impressive range of diamonds, colored diamonds and vibrant gemstones from emeralds, sapphires and rubies set in spectacular signed pieces from names including Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, Harry Winston, Oscar Heyman, Seaman Schepps, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels and Verdura.

Leading the sale is a pair of Cartier sapphire and diamond clip brooches, circa 1935. Each shield outline is set with vari-cut sapphires of Sri Lanka origin, weighing a total of 180.00 carats, enhanced by circular-cut diamonds. Offered with an estimate of US$200,000-300,000.

Also on offer is a Tiffany & Co. emerald and diamond ring. Centering an emerald-cut emerald, of Colombian origin, weighing 9.27 carats, flanked by two trapezoid-shaped diamonds. The ring is offered with an estimate of US$350,000-550,000.

Another spectacular highlight is an impressive emerald and diamond ring. Centering an emerald-cut emerald, weighing approximately 13.48 carats, flanked by two trapezoid-shaped diamonds. Offered with an estimate of US$250,000-350,000.

Other notable sale highlights include:

· A Van Cleef & Arpels sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1970. Centering an emerald-cut sapphire of Burma origin, weighing 7.81 carats, set within a surround of round brilliant cut diamonds, further enhanced by diamonds on the shank. Offered with an estimate of US$100,000-150,000.

· A pair of natural pearl and diamond earrings, composed of single pearl drops with old European-cut diamond surmounts. Offered with an estimate of US$120,000-220,000.

· A pair of Oscar Heyman diamond and ruby earrings. Each designed as a detachable invisible-set ruby drop pendant with a diamond cap, suspended from a surmount set with oval and marquise-shaped diamonds. Offered with an estimate of US$30,000-50,000.

· A Vacheron Constantin diamond 'Lady Kalla' wristwatch. With manual movement, the dial, bezel and five-row bracelet are set throughout with cut-cornered step-cut diamonds to the sapphire crystal. Offered with an estimate of US$80,000-120,000.

An impressive single owner collection from the private estate of the late Cortney Beebe will be featured in New York Jewels, the exquisite selection of jewelry embodies her taste and discernment as a collector.

In 2023, Cortney was diagnosed with breast cancer. Determined to make her legacy last beyond her time, the couple established the Cortney and Kevin Beebe TNBC Research Fund for the benefit of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Breast Cancer Center. Cortney Beebe passed on August 24, 2024, yet her legacy will live on, and her generosity will continue to help those most in need.

The vendor, Cortney Beebe's husband, Kevin Beebe will donate his proceeds raised to the Cortney and Kevin Beebe TNBC Research Fund, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Breast Cancer Center who work tirelessly in the research around treatment for breast cancer. Notable lots include:
