Extraordinary 30.10 Carat Pink Diamond Dazzles at Bonhams Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite Sale

Hong Kong - Bonhams will present Hong Kong Jewels & Jadeite on 28 November. The 160-lot live sale will showcase a notable collection of exquisite designs featuring coloured fancy diamonds and gemstones including rubies, sapphires and emeralds, and an important pink diamond. Additionally, the sale features jewels from traditional maisons including Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, De Grisogono and Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. presented alongside an exceptional Mozambique Paraiba-type tourmaline by contemporary fine jeweller Kat Florence.

Leading the sale is an exceptional 30.10 carats very light pink coloured, round brilliant-cut diamond from the property of a prestigious Asian collector, kept in the same private collection for over 50 years. The magnificent and rare unmounted very light pink diamond of VVS2 clarity, weighing 30.10 carats, is classified as type IIa, which is the most chemically pure diamond, offered with an estimate of HK$12,000,000- 18,000,000.

Another highlight is a Kat Florence pendant necklace. The design features an exceptional quality oval Mozambique Paraiba-type tourmaline of natural greenish-blue colour, weighing 126.25 carats set on a necklace pavé-set throughout with 16.28 carats brilliant-cut diamonds. The striking necklace is offered with an estimate of HK$1,500,000-2,500,000.

Other sale highlights include:

• A pair of fine Brazilian paraiba tourmaline and diamond pendant earrings, each suspending a heart- and pear-shaped Paraiba tourmalines altogether weighing 8.36 carats, interspersed to a marquise-cut diamond of D colour, internally flawless clarity, with the galleries pavé-set with colourless diamonds. The earrings are offered with an estimate of HK$2,500,000-3,000,000.

• A fancy vivid yellow diamond and diamond ring, weighing 6.51 carats. Offered with an estimate of HK$1,800,000-2,500,000.

• A fancy coloured diamond three stone ring, from a private collection. Set with a 2.27 carat fancy pink diamond to the center, flanked by 2.08 and 2.25 carat fancy deep yellow and fancy intense yellow-green diamond respectively. Offered with an estimate of HK$600,000-1,200,000.

• A rare and important natural "Mogok of Burma" unheated ruby and diamond ring, weighing 11.64 carats, from a private European collector. Offered with an estimate of HK$2,000,000-3,000,000.

• An imperial-coloured Jadeite and diamond pendant. Set with a jadeite cabochon with superb translucency, on a round brilliant-cut diamond set pendant. From the collection of a prestigious Asian collector, the pendant is offered with an estimate of HK$700,000-1,500,000.

• A pair of untreated Vietnamese pink sapphire and diamond pendant earrings, weighing 5.10 and 5.09 carats, surrounded by round brilliant-cut diamonds. Offered with an estimate of HK$1,000,000-1,800,000.

Other notable lots include:

• A Bulgari yellow gold, ruby and diamond "butterfly knot" necklace, circa 1980s, from a private European collector's collection. Designed as a series of graduating polished gold 'ribbons', each to a step-cut ruby and baguette-cut diamond-set band. The necklace is offered with an estimate of HK$170,000-300,000.

• A pair of Habana diamond earrings by Cartier from the Les Oiseaux Libérés collection. The Les Oiseaux Libérés collection is inspired two notable jewels; Caged bird (1942) and Free as a Bird (1944), crafted as symbols of the French occupation and France's liberation. The design represents optimism and liveliness and is offered with an estimate of HK$180,000-280,000.

• A Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. coral and diamond brooch. The organic foliage design is set with round brilliant- and single-cut diamonds enhanced by coral beads. Offered with an estimate of HK$75,000-140,000.
