Los Angeles – Elegance of the Eternal: The Collection of Anne Rice – over 200 objects from the home and personal library of the prolific supernatural and Gothic historical fiction writer – closed on October 31 to exceptional results with over 75% of lots selling above their estimate. Rice's enduring legacy was particularly evident in the success of the 87 lots of books from her library which achieved white glove results and included signed copies of her works, heavily annotated novels, and groupings of books used for research. Highlights included an annotated copy of Interview with the Vampire – the first book in Rice's famed Vampire Chronicles series – sold for $7,040, more than 5x its estimate, and a group of 18 books on Witchcraft which achieved 25x their estimate to sell for $5,120. Overall, the sale achieved $864,781 with 96% sold by lot.
The sale additionally offered a large number of flatware services which Rice used to entertain in her iconic Greek Revival home in New Orleans including a 19th century Gorham sterling silver flatware service with Mythologique patterns sold for $19,200, more than 4x its estimate, as well as a Tiffany & Co. Chrysanthemum pattern sterling silver part flatware service sold for $19,200. A selection of chess sets on offer all surpassed estimates highlighted by a Piero Benzoni gilt and silvered bronze chess set, sold for 4x its estimate at $4,096, and an Anri Knights of the Round Table chess set sold for $2,816, 3.5x its estimate.

• A copy of Gone with the Wind, 1936 by Margaret Mitchell (1900-1941), heavily annotated and tabbed by Rice, sold for $3,328 – 11x its estimate.
• A group of 30 annotated books on Italian History sold $2,560 – 12x its estimate.
• A signed presentation copy of The Witching Hour, 1990 by Anne Rice sold for $1,920 – 6x its estimate.
• A 20th century Dominick & Haff sterling silver flatware service for sold for $16,640 – 3x its estimate.
