Bonhams Hosts Charity Evening With The Connor Brothers In Aid Of CALM

Bonhams is to host a charity evening in collaboration with The Connor Brothers and the mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), to be held at Bonhams' Knightsbridge saleroom.

The evening will consist of a private viewing of the Knightsbridge Prints and Multiples auction, to be offered for sale later that week on Thursday 19 September, as well as a panel discussion with The Connor Brothers, a live DJ set and the release of The Connor Brothers' latest edition prints series, which will be available to buy in the room.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to CALM, a charity leading the movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK, which offers frontline services to people in crisis. Additionally, The Connor Brothers have created 12 prints specifically for the Prints and Multiples sale, representing the 12 men who take their own lives in this country every day. Sold without reserve, all proceeds from the sale of these lots will be donated to CALM.

The artists behind The Connor Brothers, Mike Snelle and James Golding, invented the identity of the Brothers as a form of therapy. CALM is a charity of extreme importance to them, and they commented, "We know first-hand the devastating impact suicidality can have on individuals, their loved ones, and the wider community. We are grateful to Bonhams for offering us the opportunity to support the life-saving work that CALM does."

In 2016, CALM was chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry to join their Heads Together campaign, an initiative promoting wellbeing and an increased public awareness of mental health issues.

Department Director of Prints & Multiples at Bonhams Knightsbridge, Carolin von Massenbach, commented, "We are so thrilled to team-up with The Connor Brothers for this important and worthwhile cause, raising awareness for CALM. As influential figures of the Contemporary Art scene, we are extremely delighted to have their unique prints featured as highlights in our upcoming Prints & Multiples auction."

The Connor Brothers works will be offered alongside prints by modern British and European printmakers as well as contemporary artists such as Banksy, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, David Shrigley and Julian Opie.
