engraved silvered chapter rings with Roman chapters and gilt pointer, unusual rack bell striking movement with shaped plates, fusee and chain going train with verge escapement and plain balance, fitted in a blue sphere with gilt stars mounted on a column with relief scenes depicting knights and inscribed proteger l'innocence vaincre l'opresseur, stepped plinth with concave corners raised on claw feet,
