A HARPERS FERRY U.S. MODEL 1805 FLINTLOCK PISTOL,

.58 caliber round barrel, the breech with "US" within an oval cartouche, eagle's head over "P" proof mark; flat lock plate with pointed tail marked "HARPERS/FERRY/1807" and with spread wing eagle over "US" below the pan, the inside of the lock plate marked "WV"; walnut stock; brass furniture including butt cap with long ears, trigger guard with pointed finial, flat side plate, brass nose band, brass entry pipe and iron rib with iron rammer pipe, wood rammer with brass tip.
Barrel lg. 10, overall lg. 16 in.
Condition: Barrel cleaned bright and with minor pitting at the breech and muzzle; lock toned to gray/brown; right side of stock has a repaired break from the forward part of the lock mortice through the key slot to the end of stock, left side has a corresponding crack; brass toned to yellow, action functions properly.
