A POLISHED BONE AND WOOD SWISS SPORTING CROSSBOW,
first half of the 17th century.

The heavy steel bow with thick cord mounted on wood stock covered in polished wood plates engraved with scenes depicting the life of William Tell, fitted with a steel bow string anchor and trigger (lacking some fittings).
