FOUR INLAID IRON TSUBA

Edo period (1615-1868), 18th/19th century
Comprising an oval, small iron tsuba inlaid in gold and silver with hō-ō birds, paulownia, and Western-style putti, unsigned;
an oval iron tsuba pierced and inlaid in gold (or brass) and silver wire with karakusa tendrils unsigned;
an Aizu Shōami almost circular iron tsuba, pierced with two mushrooms in negative silhouette and with gold nunome-zōgan overlay of a spiderweb, signed Aizu no jū Shōami;
and an oval iron tsuba inlaid in gold with stylized chrysanthemums and geometric designs, unsigned
Each with a wood storage box
3 1/8in (7.9cm) high, the largest (4).
