In the present work, Kal-Si-Wa (Mountain Robin) dons the headdress worn by Pomo women during the Spring Clover and Fall Acorn festivals. The dancers shifted their weight from one foot to the other resulting in the mesmerizing movement of feathers and beads.
Kal-Si-Wa (who also went by name Rosa Peters) and her children, sat for Grace Carpenter Hudson roughly thirty times throughout the artist's prolific career.
