A Claudette Colbert suit from The Man From Yesterday
Footnotes
Claudette Colbert was Paramount's leading lady whose wardrobe in films was unparalleled under the direction of genius designer Travis Banton. This 2-piece suit epitomizes the 1930s chic style and clean lines so popular in the day. Playing opposite Charles Boyer and Clive Brook, Colbert finds herself trapped between the husband she thought was dead and her new lover in this film directed by Berthold Viertel. Colbert can be seen wearing the suit in the scene where she sees her husband for the first time after thinking he had perished. An alteration appears to have been made since the production with the removal of a front faux pocket.
