A copy of a handwritten letter to Mrs. Wickett from Morgan discussing the commission accompanies this lot. It reads in part: "I know the doing of your lovely house will be a real thriller to me. We will hope for a few lovely Spring days at that time to do this... it seems to me three mornings will be enough to complete the picture."
The extant home at 1600 Bryant is a Spanish Colonial Revival house built in 1923 for Mr. Wickett, Vice-President of New York Life Insurance and City Councilman. The architect was Albert Farr and the Minton Company was the builder.
