During their live shows around the world in 2019, the legendary British band New Order performed a varying set-within-a-set commemorating the 40th anniversary since the release of Joy Division's seminal album 'Unknown Pleasures'. Bespoke stage screen visuals were created by the band's visual co-ordinator Warren Jackson to accompany this segment of songs (Disorder, Transmission, She's Lost Control, Shadowplay), with footage filmed in multiple countries showing flags printed with the iconic 'Unknown Pleasures' album artwork, the CP-1919 pulsar. Two versions of the flags were used: the original album's white graphic on black, along with a black graphic on a white flag, reflecting Peter Saville's 2019 re-working of the artwork for the album's 40th anniversary.
These two unique and original flag props as used in the videos have now been pledged to The BLUE Auction. The pledge will also include items from the Unknown Pleasures 40th anniversary capsule collection from Goodhood x Joy Division, a collaboration with Peter Saville showcasing his inverse colour scheme: an 'Unknown Pleasures' homeware cushion and a signed 'Unknown Pleasures' 40th anniversary bag
Collection dates to be arranged by mutual agreement
