By Masanao of Ise, Yamada, Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), mid-late 19th century
Standing with his arms folded, his feet crossed and his mouth open, wearing a short skirt with a drum suspended from his belt at his waist, his eyes inlaid in translucent horn; signed beneath one foot Masanao. 22.2cm (8 3/4in) high.
