19TH-CENTURY CONTINUOUS COLORED PANORAMAS.
Three 19th century continuous print rolled panoramas, including:
1. CRUIKSHANK, ROBERT, ILLUSTRATOR. Going to a Fight. The Sporting World in All its Variety of Style and Costume along the Road from Hyde Park Corner to Moulsey Hurst. Sherwood, Neely & Jones, September 1, 1819. Approximately 62 x 3980 mm, hand-colored aquatint panorama consisting of 42 scenes, housed in original boxwood cylinder with colored aquatint title label. Abbey Life 473.
2. Coronation of George IV, 1821. London: William Sams, January 1, 1822. Roughly 7500 x 82 mm, hand-colored aquatint panorama consisting of 103 (of 131) scenes, beginning at scene 28, and continuing through imprint at end, intermittent staining, lacking boxwood drum case. Abbey Life 483.
3. [A Journey from Dover to Paris.] Sans imprint, early 19th-century. 2032 x 51 mm, hand-colored aquatint panorama consisting of 21 scenes and numerous subjects, backed in linen and mounted on a roller, housed in a red morocco cylindrical case, shaped like a book on the outside. A RARE AND CHARMING PANORAMA.
