A George II carved giltwood mirror
in the manner of Matthias Lock
The later rectangular plate within a pierced and scrolling acanthus carved frame, surmounted by a pierced acanthus cresting with central cabochon later painted and parcel gilt with a crest depicting a bird on a rock with a snake, with pierced 'C' scroll and acanthus carved apron below, later gilding, the plate possibly replaced123cm high, 75cm wide (48" high, 29.5" wide).
