Mimeograph Manuscript, 149 pp, 4to, [Los Angeles], October 15, 1954, being the script for Selznick's television production, "Light's Diamond Jubilee," featuring contribution by Steinbeck, with color revision pages bound in, bound with three brads in blue wraps, pages mildly age-toned, covers sunned. WITH second copy, incomplete, but containing green revision pages of the Steinbeck piece.
In 1954 motion picture producer David O. Selznick turned his attention to television, producing "Light's Diamond Jubilee," a special celebrating 60 years of electricity in America that was broadcast simultaneously on all four networks (ABC, NBC, CBS and DuMont). Steinbeck contributed a humorous monologue on the effect of electricity on the common man, performed on the show by actor George Gobel.
