4to (275 x 228 mm). [6], xviii, 442 pp. Half-title with engraved vignette. Later plain brown wrappers. Toning from wrappers, minor dust-soiling, wrappers chipped, ex-library with withdrawal stamp on bookplate from Mills College, small perforation stamp to title and a few other small markings.
FIRST EDITION OF THIS 13TH CENTURY ICELANDIC SAGA. Scholars date the composition of the Laxdæla saga to between 1230 and 1260 in western Iceland.
