Third Quarter Of The 16th Century
Each embossed with scenes of combat between mounted and foot soldiers, some in contemporary costume, others in Classical armour, those on the bow within a landscape with trees, those on the cantle with a walled city in the background, the recessed border embossed with linked ovolos and with boldly roped edge, now acid cleaned but retaining traces of gilding (2)
