Late 15th Century, Perhaps Spanish
Of bright iron, comprising a prow-shaped chin-defence with medial ridge of two plates pivoted together at the sides, the upper edge with narrow turn, the lower one shaped to the chin (spring catch missing), and two neck-plates hinged on each side and each with low medial ridge, the lower one drawn down to a blunt point and pierced with two small holes, and with replacement dome-headed rivets (in restored condition)
