Tachi after Rai Kunitoshi, Kamakura period, 13th century; o-tanto by Bizen Yasumitsu, Muromachi period, 15th century
Tachi:
Sugata (configuration): hon-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-gissaki, slight koshi-zori
Kitae (forging pattern): itame-hada in jinie
Hamon (tempering pattern): choji gunome based in nie with ashi, kinsugi, inazuma, utsuri and tobiyaki
Boshi (tip): ko-maru
Horimono (carving): futatsu-bi on both sides
Nakago (tang): o-suriage with kiri file marks and four holes (three plugged), orikaeshi mei Rai Kunitoshi
Habaki (collar): one-piece, solid gold carved in bold relief with pine trees and reishi fungus

the katana koshirae mounted with a gilt-copper kurigata and a kojiri designed with pine trees in iroe takazogan, the tsuka wrapped in light green silk and fitted with a copper fuchi-gashira decorated with a boar sleeping in blossoming autumn grasses in iroe takazogan and shishiaibori, signed Nagatsune and with kao, and shakudo and gold menuki formed as plum blossoms, and a rounded-square copper migakiji tsuba carved with a cedar forest in nikubori and pewter inlays, signed To'u, gold rim and hitsu-ana plugged with gold;
the tanto koshirae mounted to match with a gilt-copper kurigata carved with grasses and a iroe takazogan kojiri with scattered pine cones, fitted with a Hamano-school shibuichi ishimeji kozuka decorated with a reishi fungus in shakudo and gold takazogan, signed Shojuro.. Noriyuki and sealed Shiken, the tsuka mounted to match the katana koshirae with copper migakiji fuchi-gashira decorated with galloping horses in takabori and shakudo takazogan, inscribed Joi, gold and shakudo menuki of plum blossoms, the oval shinchu migakiji tsuba decorated with a shishi and young in a mountainous landscape in iroe takazogan and takabori
